Nebunia lumii.

Internet, Links, Stiri, World Buzz — admin on June 26, 2007 at 2:52 pm

Her full name, which left register office staff in Perton, Wolverhampton reeling is: Autumn Sullivan Corbett Fitzsimmons Jeffries Hart Burns Johnson Willard Dempsey Tunney Schmeling Sharkey Carnera Baer Braddock Louis Charles Walcott Marciano Patterson Johansson Liston Clay Frazier Foreman Brown.

New Zealand authorities have blocked a couple’s bid to officially name their new son “4real,” saying numerals are not allowed. Pat and Sheena Wheaton said they decided to name their new baby “4real” shortly after having an ultrasound and being struck by the reality of his impending arrival.

“The name has not at this stage been rejected,” Registrar-General Brian Clarke said in a statement Thursday. “We are currently in discussions with the parents … to clarify the situation.”

Clarke said the rules are designed to prevent names that are “likely to cause offense to a reasonable person.” Satan and Adolf Hitler were proposed names that have been declined, he said.

If no compromise has been reached by July 9, the baby will be registered as “real,” officials say.

A Texas man scheduled to be executed on Tuesday wants to die laughing. Patrick Knight, 39, has been soliciting jokes on the Internet and plans to tell one of them before receiving a lethal injection, Texas Department of Criminal Justice spokeswoman Michelle Lyons said on Monday.

“He says he wants to keep his execution light,” she said.

Knight was sentenced to die for the August 1991 murder of his two elderly neighbours in Amarillo, Texas.

President George Bush in Albania, Stolen

Miercuri, 13

Ego-centrum, Romania, Gandesc, Links — admin on June 13, 2007 at 10:35 am

” (Sursa: EVZ.ro)

Stiu ca-i vechi articolul dar el ramane valabil. 13… ?!

Treburi avocatesti…

Ego-centrum, Internet, Gandesc, Links — admin on June 10, 2007 at 10:24 pm
According to CNET News.com. federal judge Jacqueline Chooljian requested that Torrentspy (what’s in a name) must start creating logs detailing their user’s activities. This, despite the site’s privacy policy which states they will never monitor their visitors without consent.

Understandably, this is a worrying move by the court - even more so when one considers these logs must then be turned over to the MPAA. This is believed to be the first time a judge has ordered a defendant to log visitor activity and then hand over the information to the plaintiff. The decision - arrived at last month but under seal - could force sites that are defendants in a law suit to track the actions of their visitors.

“It is likely that TorrentSpy would turn off access to the U.S. before tracking its users,” said Rothken. “If this order were allowed to stand, it would mean that Web sites can be required by discovery judges to track what their users do even if their privacy policy says otherwise.”

This action follows MPAA action in 2006 against several BitTorrent sites, TorrentSpy included. According to the MPAA, Torrentspy helps others commit copyright infringement by directing people to sites which enable them to download copyright material, an offense claims the MPAA, of secondary copyright infringement.

At the time, Rothken said “It [TorrentSpy] cannot be held ‘tertiary’ liable for visitors’ conduct that occurs away from its web search engine”. TorrentSpy claims it did nothing illegal and suggested the MPAA should sue Google.

One way or another, it seems that the MPAA is determined to obtain information about TorrentSpy and its users. A complaint issued by TorrentSpy suggests the MPAA paid a hacker $15,000 to steal e-mail correspondence and trade secrets. The hacker admitted that this was true.

NEW YORK (Reuters) - If you’ve ever wondered how to give a man-hug, a newly relaunched online video site, VideoJug, is here to help.

VideoJug makes its debut in the U.S. on Sunday, aiming to provide the meaning on everything one encounters in life, if not the meaning of life itself.

More than 15,000 video clips explaining everything from how to tie a Windsor knot to how to cope with chemotherapy accompany the relaunch of the site. An additional 100,000 originally produced clips are promised over the summer.

The site endeavors to answer the question: “How do we do life?”

Privacy fears! Information hidden in iTunes music files.

Links, Stiri, World Buzz — admin on June 3, 2007 at 7:49 pm
Fresh privacy fears have been sparked after it emerged that Apple has embedded personal details into music files bought from its iTunes music store.

Technology websites examining iTunes products discovered that personal data, including the names and e-mail addresses of purchasers, are inserted into the AAC files that Apple uses to distribute music tracks.

The information is also included in tracks sold under Apple’s iTunes Plus system, launched this week, where users pay a premium for music that is free from the controversial digital rights management (DRM) intended to protect against piracy.

The Electronic Freedom Foundation, the online consumer rights group, added that it had identified a large amount of additional unaccounted-for information in iTunes files.

An Apple spokeswoman was unable to comment.
